About Block 88

High up in the hills in the very southern extremities of Marlborough lies a unique vineyard planted on very old soils.

Strikingly different to the Marlborough we all know, this area of vineyard produces wines with texture, purity and power; characteristics resulting from the dense clay and fractured rock these vines cling to.

Tended to by three generations of the Cowley Family, special attention has been paid to subtle differences in the vines and vineyard. Identified over many years through the separation of parcels of fruit, and a minimalist approach to winemaking, these wines are now available to a selection of markets outside New Zealand.  

The number 88 represents the Cowley family’s dedication for encircling, identifying and sharing wines with provenance.
